i wouldnt go in this place if u paid me..upsatairs geeks downstairs pill heads...its so scallie. I couldnt belive how the toillets are. They havent been cleaned for two years...disgusting.

what a cool place to go!!!!!!!!! i thought the cround n all the staff were so cool! such a mixed croud n a good mix of tunes! what a cool place to start your night out. GIVE IT A GO!

never been in here b4 but went in reluctantly as it looks a bit poncy and old on the outside and when i got in and went downstairs (i didnt know there was a dwnstairs) i was loving it! So gonna go again it was really good we thn went to a couple of bars on the way - Only embarrassing part was i was checking my underwear was on show in the mirror Hello! UNISEX WASH AREA! how embarrassed was i when a guy said dont worry you look fine - sheepishly left the toilets never to return!!!!

great bar. good selection of old school tunes playing in the basement. drinks are quite expensive alcopops are about ?3.00 but there are lots of fit trendy guys. modern toilets and surroundings. doormen are usually friendly. get there about 9.30 any earlier and it will be dead!

Visited last Saturday and didn't find the bar queues or prices any worse than anywhere else. Middle floor quite relaxed, went downstairs where the music was excellent, loads of classic club tunes from the last 10 years. After 12.30am though the clientele seemed to change with lots of middle aged people on the pull and some scallies taking advantage of the free door entry. Great pre-club bar though.

cool night out, they've got a new dj who plays decent music and you can sit outside, re-creating your holidays!!! not too good midweek - too many suits!!! weekends it comes alive

I think bar38 is a great place to escape the increasing number of scallies that are spreading onto Deansgate, Peter Street and The Locks. - Its open til 2am on Friday and Saturday.

This bar is certainly one for the older audience. I am 20 but found the atmosphere quite uncomfortable and left after my first drink. Drink prices are extortionate, and the basement is so crowded you'll consider urinating in a glass instead of trecking through 25 metres of solid crowd to get there.

I work for a large company and we tend to have a lot of ' do's ' in Manchester and we always without fail start off in Bar 38. The atmos is buzzing and although it's relatively quiet until about 9ish it then comes alive and it's always a struggle to get everyone to go on to the next venue!! p.s It's especially good in the warm summer nights just chillin' outside!!

Trendy bar with a good atmosphere.But can get very crowded.!.if you want a relaxed bar to chill in this is not really the place. But good anyways! :) Danni xox

Bar 38 has a good atmosphere for everyone in Manchester. However the drinks can be difficult to purchase as it is a task in itself getting to the bar but altogether with the loud basement section and type of people inside this place is very popular. I especially like the glass exterior as this allows one to acknowledge those arriving and 'leg it' out the back door if anyone sinister arrives!

Brilliant bar and surroundings. Good idea on the November Sunday night promotions - looking forward to them with great excitement. Bar staff friendly especially Marc Lowden who always appears to have time for all his customers - brill guy. Keep it up Bar 38 -
