Brannigans Review:

A strange mix of restaurant and classy-done-cheap bar this isn't a place to make your local. There's nothing really of note to say about the venue really - could be a good restaurant; could be an okay bar - but the two heaped together makes for a strange place and a clashing of atmospheres.

Friday and Saturday nights are to avoid, as the place is rammed with 'older' women, and local scallies. Don't get us wrong, I'm not exactly a member of the aristocracy, but this place has to be one of the roughest city-centre bars, and a blight on Peter Street.

I thought i would speak up for the oldies being one of them yes i agree the door staff can be a bit agressive but look what they have to put up with Stefan and Phil have always been great helpful and cheerful we have all our staff parties there as for us oldies not everyone is looking to pull some of us just like the atmosphere,people and the music and to be honest most of the lechy fellows you would not look twice at i dont anyway

i love brans it'S a really good night out alway have a laugh. the place is as good and you make it so if you dont like it it's because your boaring...i dont class my fiend and i as scallys or mature women we are really well dressed and only being 24 i class that as young GO IT A FAB PLACE TO END YOUR NIGHT!!!!!!!!!

Brannigans is ace!!! I watched all the England games there & have never known an atmosphere like it! The drinks can be a bit on the pricey side, but as long as you stick to beer, you're alright! We particularly enjoy it because they play a wide variety of music, so we all leave happy!!! All hail Brannigans & its sticky floor!!! :D

What Brannigans being rubbish!! No way! As an ex-member of staff I have to say that the atmosphere is wicked most nights. There is a few dodgy people that come in but hey it all works! The night is what you make it.

DO NOT GO HERE! We found the bouncers ok in general..apart from one who thought he was vin diesel, what a plank! Apart from his general attitude, he had no people management skills at all, god knows how he got his license! And it was a big suprise when he repied " I CAN READ ", after my girlfriend had produced her driving license and pointed out her date of birth to him! WHAT A MUPPET!!!!!!!!!!!

I Love IT!!!! Its combination of cheese meets r&b music means all my friends can have a dance to the sort of music they like! The bar's reasonable & the "older clientelle" mean I'm not getting my bum pinched every 5 mins! There really is something for everyone here! I go here quite often & the only trouble I've ever seen are on match days. Yes the football drunkards are the trouble makers here. Avoid it on match days but add it to your list the rest of the time! (Not for food, though)!!!!!

it makes a nice change to go somewhere with a variety of music, and where you can have a laugh and not be judged by the way you dress or by what you drink - cannot stand posey bars full of pretentious people, i go out to have a laugh not pretend to be something i`m not. oh and by the way i am not old (29) and i am not a local scally!!

one word for this - CRAP! went it, music not too bad but took us ages for us to get served, and there wasnt even a lot of ppl waitin to b served apart from us, the only ppl that wer gettin served wer the blokes, as u guessed it, the ppl behind the bar wer female,think that answers the question,didnt say in here very long.

Dropping one off the rating for the prices. Its the most expensive place we go. I go in every friday. I think the only problem is the fact that for regular visitors the music is a little repetitive. My friends and I pride ourselves on knowing the next track! Overall atmosphere is good and I have to disagree with the 'grab a grannies' statement. I think its just not a go for under 18's.

I think all these bad reviews are a bit unfair. Brannigans is ok. its not full of scallies or 50 year old women. At least the people who go in there are not up their own arses like they are in a lot of other night spots in Manchester. Also, all you lads who are going on about 'old birds', well you get a few 'dirty old men' in there too!. (and before you think i'm one oldie sticking up for another, i'm only 23!!)

I tend to be in brannigans on a monday night, (cheap drinks), and I go now and again, (ie when pay day has just been round!) But because I've been a few times, and got to know some of the bar staff and some of the "grippers" i find its a nice place to go and dance to cheese of all cheese, I enjoy my night, and i hope that others have too....isnt that what counts?

a top night out for local scallies like myself, and some of the older birds are well fit so dont knock it... it was only last week i got particularly frendly with a 50 year old one but she did collapse on the floor afterwards. anyway its a good night out

I ve been to Brannigans twice now and the second time `i scored a crackin bird from Antrim, talent is good but I must admit there are quite a few ol birds gaggin for it & most arent worth lookin at. Also the beer is always warm. but overall the talent is decent & its a good laugh!

We found it excellent at Brannigans on Sunday night. The music was top class and the atmosphere was great apart from neanderthal who kicked off with me cos he couldn't handle his beer. The bouncers seemed ok and they didn't mind that we were chewing our faces off and dancing like bez from the happy mondays for 2 hours!

I went to Brannigans on a Saturday night, I found it extremely rough, the staff were very rude, especially the bouncers, who should take a course in anger management and I would not recommend this place to anyone. The drinks are expensive and it just has a horrible atmosphere!!!
