Our Kro Bar Review
Surprisingly devoid of students, despite it being a bottle-throw from the Union, and surrounded by University buildings. Kro (Danish for Drinking Establishment) tries hard to be two different things and manages to succeed. Downstairs is a clean metallic look; simple and cool, whilst upstairs is homely with large couches, bare wood tables, high ceilings. The perfect place to meet large groups of friends and discuss random thoughts. Drink wise, its bog-standard, although has a large range of beers, and prices aren't too ridiculous. It servers Virgin Cola too, which was a first for me. Definitely worth a look.

hah. what a joke. went in for a mojito. was told by a cocky, smug whippersnapper they were his speciality before, without any attempt to hide this, staring dumbly at what quite clearly was a recipe.
the drinks arrived 25 minutes later and were horrible. mostly soda. no charm at all. i complained to the manager who told me the staff had all had mojito training that week. proving the crap barman had ouright lied. manager made us new drinks but still charged us for 1 drink. so paid for 3 drinks, two of which were totally undrinkable.
the food's crap too.

Got to be one of the worst bars I've ever been in! Bar staff were unfriendly and too busy chatting amongst themselves to serve the 4 deep queue at the bar. They also appeared to have memories comparable to goldfish as were unable to keep track of who was next to be served.My double vodka redbull cost a whopping £8.30! - over £4 the price of a dvr in Walkabout (100m down the road and service with a smile too). The bouncers were rude and refused to let in our male companions when they arrived a few minutes after us, as there were too many of them - 4!! The bouncer politely (??) informed us it was "like a gay club in there already", and then refused to look or speak to us afterwards. Lovely. The door policy seemed a little odd to me as they seemed to have let in a suprisingly large number of smack-heads. 5 minutes in and we decided to down our outragiously priced drinks and move on, our night improved considerably from then on. (We think you're referring to Kro2 given that you reckon Walkabout is 100m away - Ed).

This is an absolutely super duper place. They have a fantastic range of beers and other drinks and the staff actually know how to serve them. Superb chilled out but somehow sophisticated atmosphere with no need for agressive doorstaff. Only gripe is that they don't serve "real" Carlsberg beer varieties or Tuborg which is a big favourite in Copenhagen. Also they could offer more in the way of Danish fare....otherwise no complaints. Keep up the good work guys!

well its not too bad, prices are prob a little too high, but if u want a fun night out on a monday, i guarantee the quiz a success!!! the guy who takes it is a nutter! and the chance to win ?100+?!

Great place to go for a pint or a light meal. I work at the University and its been my after-work haunt for the last 4 years. Avoid it from 5pm till about 7.30 on a friday, as almost everybody who works in the medical school decamp to the Kro Bar after work. Other than that its a great place.

Wonderful, music is great and I can't wait to see 1 Nation Live on 22nd. Concrete records put some great music on too last week. The staff are helpful and friendly.
