Our One Central Street Review

With a lengthy design process, this bar was always going to look fantastic, and true to their word the team behind One Central Street have delivered 'sophisticated sleaze' to Manchester. Internally the venue is split into two areas - the bar is your first point of call, and to the rear is the club-space. Thankfully design is not the only strong point of this gorgous place - the cocktail list, and the mixing ability of the bartenders, is top notch, as are the spirits available.

Romp (Thursdays) and Funkademia (Saturdays) are absolutely packing the place out every week and by all accounts One Central is doing a roaring trade.

Been once before, then tried recently on a saturday night "Funkademia". Door staff friendly, bar staff quick, Music and atmosphere fab, best night ive had out in Manchester in a long time...

Had a great friday night out there. Cocktails were mixed excellently! Even the non-alcoholic fruit juice mix! Most bar tenders were friendly. People all very much relaxed. Unfortunately the place was let down by one particular bar attendent - extremely useless at remembering who was next, very rude and basically almost let the others down....in case you're wondering which one....the large bald one (sorry mate)! Still not a bad night at all!

A fantastic space and an easy going door policy which seems to get the 'right' sort of people in without ever appearing to be too picky is only let down by the occassionaly surly barstaff (and I do always say please and thankyou)

Good size venue with a good mix of people. Excellent door policy and very helpful staff. The atmosphere was very relaxed with a good age mix and no attitude. Only problem was the communal toilets, not sure I can get used to that!

Very encouraging and quite laid back bar with good drinks selection. Good barstaff and a range of clientele from students, to new-money Cheshire types as well as a few dressed up townies. Highly recommended for people watching and good drinking!

If you can get in - a superb night, though I recommend going before 9pm and if you're male try and mingle with some females. The last 4 times I've been we've arrived around 9.30 - 10pm and queued patiently only to be told it's 'members only'. Funny how most members seem to be young, female and attractive. Some bar staff leave a lot to be desired but the crowd and music make it worthwhile. Still not sure how you become a member!

Superb venue, a lot of fun. Strange crowd, who range from the extremely sociable to the extremely insociable. Luckily the girls are attractive and very chatty and the music starts off good ranging from funky beats but sadly resorting to the cheesier end of a night. Not as classy as the girl with the clipboard on the door is trying to make out.

From regular visitors to recently disappointed. Questionable door policy over revcent months, even early on has meant our well dressed, mixed groups have been turned away.

Went to the new FLY night on Sat as was amazed how good it was. Like the new set up with the DJ box and the new raised section of dancefloor. Reminded me of Sankeys on a good night. Will b going again this Sat.

Loved the new Saturday nite which was called Fly. Great music from early funk and disco building up to a more up for it house set from 12 till the wee small hours. Excellent!!!!!
