A nice old pub that offers a friendly atmosphere whenever you enter, being mid-week or weekend evenings.
You're always guaranteed to have a laugh with cheap Sam Smith's and Ayingerbrau beer. The food's not that bad either - living up to its name and serving oysters!
The management are friendly and although are welcoming to football fans, always look out for their regular customers.
(There are a few good-looking barfolk also!)

Excellent food and drink provided. But you need to include a bit more information about the pub on this web-site

This pub has a very friendly atmosphere complemeted by excellent prices and quality beer. Its and old fashioned style pub inside, with lots of nooks and cranies to hide away in, there is also a decent sized beer garden outside if the Manchester weather is good. Be warned about the Ayingbrau pils, it tastes better than Stella but its stronger than rocket fuel.

Really cheap beer! But absolutly tiny. The ceiling is way too low and there is just no space whatsoever. All in all - a good place to get ur first couple of pints.

A traditional pub located in the heart of the city centre which offers a warm intimate atmosphere. The beer and food is nice and not overly expensive..friendly and full of charm. Perfect.

Always try to get into the Oyster bar when at the match in Manchester. Yes, it is only small, but this is one of the things that make it a great pub. If you are going, check out the Prinz lager, excellent stuff!!!!
Food is good and value for money.
Looking forward to our next jaunt before the Juve game in February!!

i agree with most others on here, i love taking friends and family there in summer whenever they visit me. fantastic standing outside in the sun, even bought a homeless guy a drink there when it was my birthday cos he was partying with us (late afternoon drinks - just to get the evening started) no attitude from anyone and now they have the TV screen near and the street entertainers now and then its great to stop off for a swift one when out shopping.

Plastic glasses outside in the evening..don't know about the day never bothered to go back. Definately not a traditional pub!

Warm, friendly atmos. Cheap beer, crackin' food wot more could you ask for!! In answer to some of the comments about the landlord, he's a top bloke who just doesn't take any s**t in his pub which incidentally has recently won the Best Pub award in the Best Bar None Awards, so there!

Not one I'd like to shout from the rooftops and advertise. It's okay in the summer if you can get a seat outside and the beer's cheap, I suppose that's all that really matters, I much prefer the Old Wellington next door and you still have the benefits of outdoor seating. As for the staff, there probably too busy to care about being polite to customers, I don't balme them if the boss doesn't do any work.

Seems from the other posts you either love or hate this bar. Me? I hate it, not a good thing to say about it. Full of football yobs and students, but if you still really want to go, best leave it till Euro 2004 when the manager's not around.

Good food, cheap booze and good atmos. Only prob a bit cramped inside in winter but great in summer coz of the heat lights when it get chilly.

Small, cramped, smells like old people but the beer is cheap, the crowd's quite good and the staff are friendly. However, one barmaid was really rude and unpleasant.
