Part of the infamous Peter Street, an area that used to be a somewhat reasonable place to drink but it's now descended into something off Ibiza Uncovered. Don't get me wrong, Im as much a fan of that show as anyone else, but when you take a load of drunks and stick them on a cold, rainy, Manchester street you get problems. Square is actually a decent enough bar, with plenty of space and some good drinks offers. It's aimed at the cocktail lover, and the fact is their bar staff do serve up a mean drink - just avoid at peak times due to the over-scallification.

Snotty bar staff. Bad atmosphere. High risk of getting caught up in a fight. Doormen glorified thugs who would rather have a good fight outside than control violence inside. Would NEVER go back there. Its not safe.

Used to be a good place to go with 70's & 80's tunes but now its all dance crap & theres a woman behind the bar with blonde hair, foreign who actually stopped & looked at me in the face as I was having a laugh with my mates & just glared at me, I swear to god I've never had such a filthy look thrown at me in my life! shes needs sacking!

I used to go there a while back but it got really boring. The only reason me and my friends kept going back there was because we knew people that went there. The people that are in the club are generally quite friendly. However the club really has gone down hill since me and my friends used to go there. I went back there with a friend once, not out of choice, and the place was really boring, the dance floor was practically empty. Not a good place to go to if your looking for a FUN night out.

large venue that holds large numbers of dole artists. Squadrons of loud girls totter about ( some looking like they belong on canel street). The lads leave their baseball caps outside. Their mission- pull giggling jordon lookalike or have a fight or BOTH. Leave them to it. Avoid after 8pm. cheers

How could I not give Squares top marks when I met such a lovely girl as Claire there. The 80s music was a great change from today's offerings, there was enough room to be comfortable. Everyone seemed very happy & content. The only thing I'd change is leaving without Claire's phone number. So, Claire, if you see this and remember charming me, Dave, a golfer up from Devon, email me now please!!!

I went in Squares on Saturday night and will be there again, nothing but good old 80's tunes and a few from the 70's too. Top girlie night, decent age crowd too, I'm sick of going into bars in town and them being full of young drunk scallies, but this was a good night and not one hard house tune anywhere ;)

Music on a Saturday is ace and the staff are all pretty good. The only problem is the scallies, but unfortunately they are everywhere!!

TERRIBLE FOOD, TERRIBLE SERVICE. Not usually one to complain but given the choice would rather spoon my own eyes out than go for another meal in there!

Went Sunday after Sanky's with mate from overseas. Food took 1hr 15mins to arrive, was luke warm and tasted like school dinners. Explained to foreign mates that this is not typical of English food service, was rather suprised when on explaining to the waiter the food took too long to arrive he replied "Do you want to swap roles then?" Nice one Squares, you really haven't got a clue have you?!

THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE WORST BAR IN TOWN. THE FOOD IS MICROWAVED JUNK AND THE STAFF ARE RUDE AND UNHELPFULL. I ONLY WENT IN FOR ONE BUT LEFT BEFORE I GOT SERVED BECAUSE SOME SCALLY ASKED ME WHAT I WAS LOOKING AT?

If you are on a night of sharking and you are not particuarly fussy then this is the place for you. A lot of cross over clients from Brannigans, cheap drinks though and not big bar queues.

This club/bar has a great atmosphere staff are quick friendly and helpful. The doormen are pleasant. The only thing I complain about is there is no cloatroom it would be a great earner for the place and because its so big loads of people needed to put their coats somewhere.

The decor is good but the place is full of scallies. The women dont look the best but there pretty easy to pull so you cant really complain can you?

Even though I didn't get in, must congratulate the bouncers for turning me away without cries of "come back when you get some more pubes kiddie". You have to be 21 to get in here, but still they let my mate in who's 19 like myself.

Don't wear your best shoes if you come here cos your feet stick to the floor however the music is good due to an excellent DJ and drinks aren't too pricy!

Great place, very nice staff. Music could be more updated but overall it's one of the best bars I've seen in Manchester so far.
