The Didsbury Pub

Our The Didsbury Pub Review

Just along from Didsbury gardens and on Wilmslow Road lies The Didsbury, a large, old pub that boasts a green to sit out on at the front and an interior that looks unchanged in 300 years, grand beams holding the ceiling up and tables more suited to banqueting than dining. An extensive menu offers food for all tastes but this place is geared for families so expect kids and grannies as much as your usual drinkers.

Overpriced soft drinks (£4.80 for a coke and a black & soda). Service was quite slow and the food was of poor standard ("grilled fish" was watery and certainly didn't look grilled and my "rare steak" was medium/well). Dessert was still frozen in the middle which isn't good. Shame as the beer is good and it is a perfect location!

Went last week to The Didsbury and was greeted with filthy tables that had been supposedly cleaned, waiter service that was non-existent as they were behind the bar most of the time. They brought my main before my starter. Word of warning - don;t have the chicken bruschetta 'special' starter - what a joke the chicken was as dry and hard, and when the chef was asked if this was usual a response of 'that's the way it normally is' was given. Can't wait till the fish restaurant opens next door - some good competition will be a kick up the backside for The Didsbury
