The Lass O Gowrie
Our The Lass O Gowrie Review
One of our favourite haunts, and with a unique 'Old Country' feel to it. Complete with gas lights, and plenty of stained oak, this bar would fit in quite well in Yorkshire, but sits quite happily just down from the BBC. The main talking points of this place is the meals, a delicious range of 'down to earth' meals for incrediably low prices. ?2 will get you something along the lines of Sausage, Chips, Beans and Egg, whilst ?3 gets you some of the larger main's. Deserts are cheap, and they're happy to give you some water instead of a soft drink - thus saving you even more. Ideal for lunchtimes, and a great hangover cure, our only problem is that they don't server after 6pm.
Definitely worth a look, and whilst it isnt really a night-time pub for anyone under 30, its great during the day and we can't get enough of it.

This bar has definitely grown up. With a wide range of beligium beers-including a rather nice raspberry Belle Vue and fab food, the pub provides the right atmosphere for an all day drinking session or even for just a few drinks during the day!
