The Town Hall Tavern
Our The Town Hall Tavern Review
The Town Hall Tavern is a friendly little pub tucked away off Albert Square.
Think classy traditional pub and you’re not far off – open fireplace, bookcase with fading editions of Dickens classics, red carpets, beer mats. They deserve a special mention for their robust ale selection and range of whiskies on offer, and the food is cheap and filling.
What sets this pub above its companions in the area (the Nag’s Head and the Rising Sun being the two that spring to mind) is its very loyal customer base. People really seem to warm to the pub and there’s always an upbeat atmosphere and a friendly crowd.
It’s a great place to start the night -check it out on a Friday, when the after work crowd is in full swing.

OMG great place, me and my mates really like old-fashioned bars and stuff, loved this one! Great choice of food and ales, but, very few mineral waters! You could pick any kind of beer but no Evian or San Pellegrino, think a lil bit about those of us who don't drink! Great anyways, will go back! Cute guys!

This is a small, quait and an old fashion type pub. Just perfect. The clientelle are of mixed ages, while the staff are quite young. The staff are very friendly and the banter is superb. Although the prices are very (emphasis on the next word) slightly more expensive, the atmosphere is very live and loud. This pub, if anything, is the perfect place to start the weekend with. A couple or more pints after work followed by going to a club, such as Walkabout.
Just perfect

What can I say. This pub has gone completely down hill. From what was my lunchtime local, I know really despise the place. All the prices have increased greatly, for instance a pint of Fosters has gone from ?2.00 to ?2.20. The food has, also, greatly increased in price and the staff just do not seem interested in serving the lunchtime regulars and just seemed interested about their own affairs, most of which include the love lives amonst the staff!!!

Perhaps if C. Irvine wasnt so sleazy with mentioned bar staff they would be more than happy to help. I find the THT a very pleasant after work drinking establishment and have been a regular for sometime.

One of the much better "barroque" establishments in Manchester - Staff are friendly, service is great and most of all it is reasonably priced for the area it is in!
Note to owner/manager - what's happened to the decent choice of bottled beers - and spirits???
