Not even worth rating 1 out of 5. Friend had her wallet stolen in here and door staff couldn't have cared less and have been any less helpful. Also verbally and physically aggressive to females half their size without due cause.

Shame there isn't a zero in the option of rating out of 5. 0/5.
Rude, violent and unreasonable staff who were unsympathetic to a vulnerable customer. Where is the protection and where is the customer service? Their mission statement goes something like this (from their website): Our first class management team has ensured that we provide robust and forward thinking ambassadors of TAURUS ELITE SECURITY. It is this level of security delivery that allows our customers to be assured of our commitment to all their security requirements. BULL SHIT. Clean your act up Thompson Arms and hire a new contractor!

Tried to get in on 28th October 2011. I am a regular at the bar with my friend. On this occasion there were 4 of us in our group (3 gays and 1 girl), we were refused entry to the bar by one of the disgusting rude bouncers due to the fact there was a girl in the group. The couple in front of us were also refused entry for the same reason.
Overcrowding cannot be blamed as a group of 7 guys were then allowed access behind us (of course there was no girl with them). We were also not intoxicated at the time so drunkness cannot be used as refusal for entry.
This is disgusting sexist behaviour and I will not accept it. I used to loved Thompsons and have clearly given them a lot of business over the past year.
They need to hire new bouncers who aren't sexist pigs.

Really good bar, loved the atmosphere, loved the barstaff and door staff and ace music. Cheers for a good night.

Very bad experience, difficult to get a drink, rude door staff and overall chavvy experience. Better places around..this is a last resort

Ace bar ,good mix of people good staff ,fair and attentive door staff,very safe and fab bar prices and a good atmosphere.I often get a guy to kiss etc.........

The best place in the village plus about a month ago someone started accusing me of stealing their mobile phone i approached a female member of the door team and she dealt with it in a very positive way i can highly reccomend this venue as being one of the most safe spots in the village

me and my mates come to the village good few times a year from ireland,thompsons is r first port of call great bar to get blocked in some real honeys steppin about.we highly recomend this place to anyone up for a great nitexx

not bad bar now its been done up. have met more than one deaf mate there as the bar staff know a bit of BSL, and are generally very good. musics a bit on the cheesy side though.

the thompsons is a very friendly place!you are instantly greeted by bouncer steve who will observe your bum on his very own bum meter!it has a dark atmosphere to it, not as well lit as some of its sister bars but you can still see the face of the lad you are snogging!which aint always a good thing! quite a few sexy bar staff,music is ok dj paul sometimes reluctant to play sclub juniors!how rude! its agood meeting place and good placed to get sloshed!

CHEAP CHEAP drinks its scary its so cheap but there is not alot else there but cheap drinks the bar staff are mostly ugly wearing just hotpants some should really cover up far to skinny the music is GAY and camp which is ok the bouncers are very very nice and always say hi and bye well done. Please get rid of the sad shirt off lads that look at me and my fab mates
