Trof

Our Trof Review

New addition to Fallowfield's loungin' scene and by all accounts it is a breath of fresh air as the existing options were looking decidedly stale. Troff is tucked away down on Landcross Road in the heart of student squalor, but once inside there is chance to chill, wind down, get something nice to eat, drink and listen to the best tunes around.

On no account go here with a hangover as the claustraphoia will kick in big time. Extremely cramped conditions and furniture that appears it would collapse at any minute will only add to your misery. When my cooked breakfast eventually arrived I ended up eating it with one utensil whilst supporting the table from swaying back and forth. I can't believe I payed for that luxury ...

Granted, its a bit small but it makes it kinda unique. Did have trouble gettin a seat but once sat down the relaxing tunes and delicious food was just what I needed after a heavy night out.

I do like this bar - it looks good in a decadent yet art-studenty way, good food and a nice atmosphere. oh, and unlike some other places, it doesn't have fifty bouncers...

Andy whaoo you mean 5/5 shorely? I sat down and forgot all round too so it was amospherically sound and the food was best. The Trof beer whatever is excellent. It's Baltimore in Fallowfield. Excellent.

As I'm from Freiburg, which is by the way the nicest city in the south of Germany ;), I'm fastidious with regard to cosy little bars and clubs as there are loads of them there. Trof is the only location, which I've discovered in Manchester so far, that can compete with the ones I know in Freiburg. So my rating: lovely place to relax and feel good :)

The best place on a Tuesday/Friday morning to head after a hard night on the student town! I'm a 9 - 5 drone now and I remember the days of yore trundling down to trof with a couple of pals to recuperate with a king size breakfast and mug of tea! It was always full though! Memories...
