Velvet
Our Velvet Review
A stylish bar and restaurant, small by definition, but with perfect designs and cutting edge technology. Definitely based around it's name, it offers a standard range of drinks and food, but with an added class of service and d?cor. Price-wise it's slightly more than average, which is to be expected, but is well worth a visit for a meal, or simply to relax with your friends and have a few drinks
Points of note are the televisions in the mens toilets, and the goldfish swimming in the stairs.

Can't believe the poor reviews, excellent bar and restaurant. Check the weekly special you won't eat better food any where in Manchester for the price... and to top that £5 for a bottle of wine before 7pm
and finally they dont charge for lime and soda

Not a bad bar. It looks very stylish and I would't mind checking it out.

velvet is the best place for food in the village. it's not as 'changing-room' makeover style as taurus next door. the food is always good and the drinks are good, although slightly over priced.
keep it up-whenever youre hungry in the village go to velvet (or fried chicken place if dead skint!!)

this bar has a lot to offer.however on the night i visited the service wasnt amazing.the only redeeming feature was the blonde guy that served us-i think his name was Matt.he is a complete stunner and if you arent particularly keen on the sound of the bar, he is definitely worth a look!

Stylish, warm, friendly, welcoming and the food is without doubt the best in the village. Great to go for a meal, lunchtime chat or start the night off before going somewhere noiser. Dan the waiter is so gorgeous and a brilliant host. Andrew is cool also.

From the moment you arrive the stylish trendy staff make you feel so relaxed and welcome including the security as you arrive, having eaten in some of the worlds best restaurants I can say this is up there with them the food is to die for. As for the prices I think they are very reasonable for what you?re getting. It is advisable to book a table though as they do get busy. Enjoy

Definitely one of Manchester's best bars. The DJ on Friday nights is superb and the music is second to none!!

Why oh why are the staff always so sulky & miserable??! Probly because they don't wanna work in the restaurant that is falling behind the rest. Tvs in the loos! wow oh yeah wow coz they are all broken & never work. You have a lot to do if you wana get up 2 the level of via fossa or eden, I mean even spirit has fab food and great staff and they are a bar not a restaurant. I think Velvet needs to get with it!

Went to see DJs ft. the Carousel String Quartet performing live on 27th Nov. Was absolutley terrific -the place was buzzing...lovely mood, great atmosphere & friendly staff. Prefect ambience to end a frazzled & busy working week. Excellent chilled vibe...difinitley worth checking out!
