Our Friends and Family Review

Friends and Family is one of those nights that deserve a great big gold star on your clubbing calendar.
The good people of Grand Central and Fat City get together on the third Friday of the month at Mint Lounge to play their favourite tunes – and they invite their friends along for the craic. So far, this has included DJ’s like Jazzanova and DJ Nu-Mark (Jurassic 5) and live acts like People Under The Stairs and Plan B. Expect a lot of quality hip-hop, with a bit of everything from dub to samba thrown in for good measure.

The name sums up the atmosphere of the night. There’s a distinct lack of posers about the place; it’s definitely more about feeling good than looking sharp. The crowd is friendly and the bar staff are on top of their game. In short, this is one of the most welcoming nights in Manchester, and we love it. Keep your eyes open for the Friends and Family BBQs at Kro Bar too, which are the finest way to lose a summer afternoon and evening we’ve come across so far.

Alice Russell was amazing in Sept. Stage presence, voice, amaaaaazing backing band, Andy Smith Djing later... What else do you need to make your friday nights complete.

Totally can't wait for the bbq on august bank holiday, last years was the best day of summer with loads of friendly people dancing about in the rain to reggae!!!
