Fresh line-ups for the Deansgate basement club

If music be the food of love and variety is the spice of life, then the new Friday line-up at Club V is one hot menu. While the Saturday night Venus event is well-known throughout the region and has a long history, Friday nights have seen events come and go without any putting down any roots and solidly establishing themselves since the departure of Angel Deelite two years ago. Fizzy Colour Traction was the most recent party to make its mark, having invited guest clubs, such as Kinky Malinki, to bring their tours and DJs to the venue.

The club have decided that it's time for a change in direction away from the trademark funky house that many associate with Club V and to run some new sounds through the venue's Funktion One.

The format will be a different event on each of the four Fridays throughout a month, with techy and electronica sounds as their common theme but each event having its own identity. The new rota starts Friday November 6th and is as follows:

1st Friday is Housjunki - Housjunki returns with Luke Pompey (Kissdafunk) headlining this night of twisted tech along with El Diablo and S'ike DJs.

2nd Friday is Surco - Although it sounds like the name of a security company to use, Surco is a night of tech, underground minimal and techno. Sam Russo, Nick Parr, Cahman, Andy Shaw and Higgy are in the booth.

3rd Friday is Skrewball - Uplifting house and tech beats plus a dash of fidget and hip-hop courtesy of Ben Pearce, Miss Masters and Kristian Foy.

4th Friday is Format - Techno, electronica and progressive with guest DJs Alan Fitzpatrick and Reset Robot on the 27th plus residents Cahman, Sco'Mo, Andy Shaw and Chan & Smith.

All the parties run from 11pm to 6am and entry is £5.00 for NUS and £6.00 for all others.
