The Club (aka Paradise Factory) is up and running, and we've talked with the team to organise a very special giveaway for all our readers. Every week, we will be giving away tickets to one party at the venue... to find out which party, all you have to do is sign up to our newsletter here.
The venue at 112 - 116 Princess Street was the final home of Factory Records, designed by Hacienda architect Ben Kelly. Following the collapse of the record label, the venue was bought by Peter Dalton and Carol Ainscow, whose bar Mantos was the seminal force behind Manchester's gay clubbing scene. Paradise Factory was an influential and popular club for many years before finally closing in 2004.
The Warehouse Project team revealed that they were to take up residency in the venue late last year, and have slowly been releasing information since. The venue will only open six months of the year, making way for the annual 12-week Warehouse Project in late 2008.
Renamed The Club (as the team are not allowed to use the Paradise Factory name) and with a revamped interior and huge sound system, the venue looks set to continue the Warehouse Project team's reputation for rejuvenating the city's clubbing scene.
