'Club of the Year' winners keep raising the bar

More clubs and promoters start up new parties in September than any other month. Just see how many have a birthday event in that month or in October. They do it because they have a shrewd eye on the new and returning students who can start their latest academic year with a new way to let their hair down.

City Life Club of the Year Venus, however, don't rely solely on students and as such are bringing in fresh promoters now as an ongoing commitment to keep the club progressing. Aside from the recent Neon event, future weekends will also be hosting trance event Rong, new house music party Tainted (2nd Friday of the month), Kiddfectious (on the last Friday) and Royale Retro with Paul Taylor and his crew (2nd Saturday, bi-monthly). In addition the club are revamping the cinema room, repainting and putting down new floors. We love the fact that Venus are not resting on their laurels and aim to keep justifying that well-deserved City Life award.

As club manager Ben Egerton says, "We at Venus understand our customers want value and this can be as simple as constantly upgrading the club ensuring people see where their money is going. Obviously this means big things for 2011!" Hed Kandi, Bitch and Twisted Elegance are among the parties that are continuing to appear regularly to ensure that the club's faithful get some of that spicy variety that keeps the Manc clubscene fresh. We just wish that Friday nights would receive more attention from promoters. Saturdays are clearly buzzing down on Blackfriars but a healthier Friday night scene would no doubt complete the picture for Venus.
